To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to you today to recommend your support of The Ballet Academy, owned and operated by Arlene Larson.  Over the course of the last two years, our home-schooled daughters, ages 10 and 6, danced under the instruction of Ms. Larson with exceptional results.  We found Ms. Larson’s school after attending several other dance studios that did not teach well, or in fact taught improperly.

Ms. Larson is the only teacher in the Kalamazoo area that is certified as a Royal Academy of Dance instructor, quite possibly the highest achievement of dance instruction in the world.  Her approach to teaching ballet is nothing less than exemplary.  She holds a very high standard for her students and this approach led our children to attain a high level of dance skills and performance confidence.  In addition, Ms. Larson is thoroughly trained in children’s physiology and she makes it a vital part of her school to teach in a manner that protects children from injury while developing their physical skills in a structured, chronological syllabus.

Under Ms. Larson’s instruction, through small class size and specific individual attention, our children vastly improved their technical skills as well as performance artistry and consistently performed well above their previous levels in the other dance schools.

Though The Ballet Academy is primarily a teaching studio, our daughters were given many opportunities to perform to audiences in various venues throughout the area, which contributed to their character development as well.

Ms. Larson’s school is not about glitzy dance recitals and elaborate costumes.  She focuses instead on high standards and precision movement.  Her studio is simply the finest quality, internationally certified ballet dance instruction available in Southwest Michigan.
